The secret of Costa Brava

Llafranc Bay, the harbor and the Cape of Sant Sebastià make this small village one of the most prestigious in Costa Brava.

Llafranc, in the municipality of Palafrugell, is close by small villages as Calella de Palafrugell, Tamariu, Begur or Pals.

From the beginnings of tourism on the Costa Brava over 50 years ago, Llafranc has became one of the most emblematic places of the Catalan coast. The bay of fine sand, its pine covered promenade and Sant Sebastià lighthouse of over 160 meters above sea level, are some of the reasons that visit Llafranc is required for everyone who wants to know Costa Brava.

Beach and Bay of Llafranc

Facing southeast, Llafranc beach is composed of fine golden sand. It has been awarded the blue flag for the quality of its services. It is adapted for wheelchairs.

Costa Brava is known for its beaches and crystal clear waters, perfect for water sports, diving or boating. Llafranc beach, Aiguablava, Tamariu, El Castell. 

"Camí de Ronda" of Llafranc

The "camí de ronda" that connect the villages of Costa Brava, ranked as GR-II, are perfect to discover coves and charming beaches and enjoy breathtaking views. Camí de Ronda between Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc, is one of the most accessible of the Costa Brava. The same ride leads to the Botanical Garden of Cap Roig, considered one of the most important botanical gardens in the Mediterranean.

Promenade Seafront of Llafranc

Llafranc has a nice pedestrian promenade with all kinds of services such as kiosks, shops, hotels and restaurants. Following the promenade to the south, the "camí de ronda" until you reach Calella de Palafrugell. To the north, we arrive to Sa Guarda mountain and the San Sebastià Lighthouse.

Lighthouse of Llafranc

The Lighthouse Llafranc, was inaugurated on 1857, is located in the historic area of the mountain of Sa Guarda. Its two viewpoints are essential to contemplate one of the best views of Costa Brava.

Sant Sebastià de la Guarda Monumental Complex

On top of the "Sa Guarda" hill you can visit the rests of an iberian town (c. VI bC), a surveillance tower which defended the hill (c. XV), a chapel an hostelry (c. XVIII). Also, the incredible cliffs, allow us to see one of the best landscapes in the Costa Brava.

Medieval Towns

Close to Llafranc we can find a great amount of medieval towns which allow us to travel trhough time. Crawling around their narrow streets full of little shops and restaurants, this is a must see while you are staying in Llafranc.

Dalinian Triangle

Visit the places where Salvador Dalí grew as a painter, sculptor, printmaker, stage designer and Spanish writer. He is considered one of the leading representatives of surrealism.

Triton Diving Centre
